Limited Custom Roast — USA Delivery
Orders are collected in advance so we can freshly roast your coffee just before our flight to the USA on September 23rd. Because we are personally transporting the beans, only a limited quantity is available. This allows us to deliver exceptionally fresh coffee while saving on international shipping costs and import tariffs. Only 500g bags are available for this first run in order to streamline our process and alleviate potential mistakes.

Aceh Gayo is particularly interesting because the roast can emphasize very different sides of its character. Please read our recent blog for an in depth description of the two beans we are offering for this first production.

Light Roast — Bright & Aromatic
A lighter roast preserves more of the bean's origin character, bringing forward subtle citrus, herbal, floral, and fruit-like qualities while maintaining a cleaner cup. This is an excellent choice for V60, Kalita, Chemex, or AeroPress, where clarity and complexity are the focus.

Medium Roast — Balanced & Sweet
Medium roasting brings Gayo's signature depth into focus: dark chocolate, brown sugar, spice, nuts, and a smooth, rounded body. For many drinkers, this is the sweet spot between the bean's natural character and the richer flavors created through roasting. It works beautifully as pour-over, drip coffee, French press, or AeroPress.

Medium-Dark Roast — Rich & Full-Bodied
Taking the roast further emphasizes dark chocolate, caramelized sweetness, spice, and a heavier body, making it especially well suited to espresso, moka pot, French press, and milk-based coffee drinks. A darker roast will increasingly emphasize roast-derived flavors over delicate origin characteristics.

For the best experience, we recommend purchasing whole bean and grinding immediately before brewing.

Once coffee is ground, its surface area increases dramatically. Carbon dioxide and volatile aromatic compounds escape much faster, while greater exposure to oxygen accelerates the processes responsible for staling. The Specialty Coffee Association notes that gases that may take weeks to dissipate from whole beans can be lost in minutes once coffee is ground.

Keeping the coffee whole means more of its aroma, sweetness, and character remains protected inside the bean until the moment you brew. Store it sealed, dry, cool, and away from excessive oxygen, heat, moisture, and light.
