Kinetic Series V2: Built for Movement, Refined by Use
When we first designed the Kinetic Series shorts, the goal was simple: remove anything that isn't necessary and create a short that moved as naturally as the body wearing It. What started as a platform for grappling and yoga quickly proved itself in places we hadn’t fully anticipated.
Over time, these shorts found their way into surf sessions, swim workouts, paintball games, and long days spent moving between training and recovery. The common thread across all of those environments was the same—pockets weren't needed which could be a defining feature. Even with mesh panels pockets catch water, add extra material which increases drag and weight as well as leaving an opportunity for things to get caught (like a finger during grappling).
Those thoughts shaped the Kinetic Series V2.
Refined, Not Reinvented
The V2 keeps what made the original shorts a staple: comfort, flexibility, and freedom of movement, but refines the structure to better handle repeated use and higher demands. We removed the mesh side panels, board short closure and went with the Hybrid waistband with a flat inner drawstring. The silhouette is more streamlined, the construction more robust with an ergonomic microfiber lateral panel, and the overall feel is more intentional.
We shortened the inseam to create a cleaner, athletic fit that stays out of the way during scrambles, transitions, and dynamic movement. The updated structure adds durability without sacrificing comfort, making them equally reliable on the mat, in the water, or on the sidelines.
Built for Environments Where Pockets Don’t Belong
The pocketless design isn’t about minimalism for its own sake, it’s about functionality. Whether you’re rolling, flowing through yoga, paddling out, swimming, ice baths or wearing them as undershorts for paintball, the absence of pockets eliminates snag points and unnecessary bulk.
Between games or sessions, they’re just as comfortable for lounging and recovery, which is often where gear either earns a permanent place or gets retired.
Comfort, Proven Over Time
The Kinetic Series has become known for comfort because it wasn’t rushed. It was worn, tested, and adapted across environments that demand different things from the same piece of gear. The V2 reflects that process—more durable, more streamlined, and better suited to how people actually move during dynamic activities.
The result is a short that doesn’t ask to be noticed. It simply works wherever you decide to take it.
This first run will be Tiger stripe, DCU and the custom Tiger stripe we created in collaboration with Peaking Indo. We are only producing 10 shorts for each pattern; if you've been around awhile, you know how we like to keep runs limited which makes each drop special for those who get in on It.
